Green Lantern is a good summer superhero film that met my admittedly low expectations but did not exceed them in any way. (more…)
Homefront
Homefront is a FPS game that at one point seemed destined for greatness. Set in the near future where a reunited Korean homeland has brought America to its knees, the premise was great but the game…not so much.
Adventureland
Adventureland is a film from the director of Superbad that came out in 2009. I’d been told by enough people that it was my type of film that when I came across it I thought it was worth a viewing. Damn you people for being right, I did indeed enjoy it quite a bit more than I would have expected.
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat is a series of video games that I have been playing off and on for many many years. I have fond memories of playing the original arcade release and even fonder memories of playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the PlayStation. Over the years though the series did lose its way and I quite honestly never expected to play another truly enjoyable Mortal Kombat game.
X-Men: First Class
I have to admit it’s not that bad you know, I’ve hated the previous four of the X-Men movies you know! OK I hated the last three I have a special place of utter seething hatred where I keep vats of boiling baby mucus for things like X-Men Origins:Wolverine. Anyway I digress. Yes I liked it. Really it was good! I know I was surprised too but everything from the casting (which I was questioning before hand) to the special effects was actually not bad.
